The speed of change in the world of education has accelerated in recent months with root and branch scrutiny of processes and structures. The Audit Commission has now turned the spotlight on Local Education Authorities with a discussion paper Changing Partners to stimulate debate on their future. 

The Department of the Environment Transport and the Regions has joined with Sheila Pantry Associates to produce Environment Plus, a CD ROM giving comprehensive environment legislation and a bibliographic database.The disc has been designed to meet the needs of those dealing regularly with environment issues such as lawyers, government departments, local authorities and manufacturers as well as those who may need information occasionally such as journalists and libraries.
