Detailed guidance has now been published on how Police and local councils must work together to reduce crime.
The Crime and Disorder Act calls on the two sectors to produce detailed
analysis on each locality’s crime problems, and put together a plan to tackle
them. New guidance has just been published which gives more information on the way that partnership should work and how to make it effective.

CROSS-SECTOR PARTNERSHIP THE KEY TO AVOID WINTER CHAOS

The Health Secretary has called on council leaders and health service managers
to work together to avoid a crisis in Britain’s hospitals this winter.

The call comes following a new report which shows that cross-sector planning
was the main reason last winter’s surge in patient numbers was managed without
significant impact on hospital performance.
