Focuses on three attributes of leadership – moral courage; the ability to influence others; and the ability to accept responsibility. Examines what is involved in each of these. In relation to moral courage, discusses when a leader should take a moral stand and the issues involved in ethical decision making, looking at the practicalities. In relation to influence, considers the difference between being a boss and being a leader, seeing influence as being the key to this and outlining how to gain it within the organisation. In relation to responsibility, advises on taking and delegating responsibility, underlining the need to accept responsibility if things go wrong.
