SEARCH LAUNCHED FOR BARRIERS TO CHANGE IN HOSPITALS

The NHS Confederation has launched an initiative to find out what are the barriers that are limiting the implementation of the NHS ten year plan. The Confederation is the voice of management in the majority of NHS trusts, primary care trusts and health authorities. The work programme will cover modernization issues and major capital redevelopment.Pressure on hospital modernization is set to increase and the Confederation wants to know not only what barriers have been encountered so far, but particularly what is the impact on management. There is concern that the management agenda is growing at a fast pace. The initiative will cover secondary and hospital-based care. Key areas of work will include service configuration, including pathology, emergency and maternity services and acute management capacity.
