Liverpool Direct, the City Council’s contact centre, has won the prestigious 2001 Prize for Public Management.This recognition comes on top an award naming the authority as one of the country’s most visionary organisations and a string of accolades from senior Government officials.
The Government has announced a major review of they way it gives financial support for business.Although the DTI was relatively unscathed in the post-election shake-up, the Trade and Industry Secretary Patricia Hewitt has taken the opportunity to rerivew how the department delivers its business support system.
