OFSTED BEARS DOWN ON FE

The pressure is now on 16-19 year old education, with a further damning report on an FE college by OFSTED.OFSTED, a non-ministerial body, is now responsible for inspecting both pre-school and further education, as well as schools. Its latest report is on Stockton College, one of the largest in the UK.

LITERACY AND NUMERACY GOES SECONDARY

The Government has put more flesh on its plans to introduce its literacy and numeracy regime into secondary schools.The special emphasis on the two disciplines has seen a demonstrable improvement in the test results of children at primary schools – OFSTED called it a ‘transformation’ in standards.
