OFSTED has identified gaps in the joined up hunt to find and keep good teachers.Everyone from teachers to Estelle Morris acknowledges there is a problem in recruiting and retaining teachers, and there has been a plethora of initiatives to address this – from ‘golden hellos’ to the offer of paying off the student debts of trainee teachers.

CROSS-SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS GET E-SUPPORT

Partnerships between the voluntary and public sectors are to be offered valuable on-line advice from new web-based services to develop out of a pilot website.The service is funded from the Invest to Save Budget, the joint venture between Treasury and Cabinet Office used to encourage public service organisations to work together to improve delivery.
