ATTEMPT TO DAMPEN FIRE STRIKE

The Government is attempting to forestall a threatened fire service strike by authorising an independent review on pay.Firefighters are calling for pay rises of up to forty percent, which they say are needed to bring them up from a very low starting point.
Like modernisation of the Police Service, the agreement by Government to look at pay levels is tied to an improvement agenda. 

PERFORMANCE BOOST FOR CRIMINAL RECORDS SERVICE
