PLANNERS GET NEW CODE ON MOBILE PHONE MASTS

A best practice code, produced jointly by representatives of central and local government and the mobile phone industry, encourages greater consultation between mobile phone operators, local authorities and local communities.The code is a guide to the siting of mobile phone masts and has been welcomed by the Planning Minister Jeff Rooker who said it would require councils, operators and local people to work together to find the best site and design for each mast.

TEACHERS LEARN LEADERSHIP AT VIRTUAL SCHOOL

Teachers are being offered a chance to test their decision making – and see the potential consequences of it – by using a computer-simulated school being piloted by the National College for School Leadership.Virtual School is a high-tech multiple choice game in which subject heads taking part in NCSL’s ‘Leading from the Middle’ programme will have a safe environment in which to practise their skills.
