The work is set in the context of the priorities for public service reform in coming years. It brings together what the authors have learnt from working with service organisations, along with the contributions of over 50 professionals from private, public and voluntary organisations and a number of independent experts in service design.

It details how local authorities, businesses and communities are working in partnership in a range of areas, including housing and services for older and younger people.

GOVERNMENT URGED NOT TO WASTE CHANCE TO REFORM CORONERS’ SYSTEM
The Government is being warned today that it is in danger of “wasting a golden opportunity” to reform the system for issuing death certificates which includes Coroners investigating certain deaths. The present system dates partly from Victorian times and partly from even earlier. The warning comes from the Commons Constitutional Affairs Committee.
