COUNTERING FRAUD AND CORRUPTION

The Chartered Institute for Public Finance and Accountancy has published a framework to help public bodies respond to fraud and corruption. It is estimated that the public and private sectors together loose some 16 billion pounds through fraud every year. The guide has been produced in collaboration with the NHS Counter Fraud and Security Management Service and the Audit Commission.

SHARED SERVICES MOVES UP THE EFFICIENCY AGENDA

Delivering efficiency savings by sharing services is moving up the agenda in central and local government. Shared services is a key component of the Transformation Government strategy, the successor to the e-Government initiative, and a progress report on the strategy is due from the Cabinet Office next month.
