STUDY SAYS PCTs ARE STRUGGLING TO GIVE PATIENT CHOICE TO ALL

A report today claims that Primary Care Trusts are struggling to support patients making choices about hospital care and the study, published by the King’s Fund, warns that this could undermine one of the government’s ambitions for patient choice, making the National Health Service fairer.

COUNCILLORS STRESS IMPORTANCE OF LISTENING

Nine out of ten councillors believe listening to the views of local people is the most important part of their job. A new census of councillors has also found that while almost ninety per cent of them are motivated by a desire to serve the community many struggle to maintain a balance between politics and life.
