COMMISSION’S NEW ENFORCEMENT TEAMS TO TACKLE POOR PROVIDERS

 

Seven new specialist enforcement teams are being set up to tackle poorly performing services, under proposals from the Commission for Social Care Inspection, which says the move is a reflection of its commitment to stamping out bad practice wherever the Commission finds it and to improving services.

PLAN AIMS TO HELP NEW HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FIND JOBS

 

The NHS has joined forces with trade unions and health service employers to draw up an action plan to increase job opportunities for newly qualified healthcare professionals. The plan has been put together through the Social Partnership Forum and makes practical suggestions for NHS, social care, local government, independent and voluntary sector employers as well as higher education institutions about how they can identify employment opportunities.

CHILDREN’S SERVICE DIRECTORY

Currently Children’s Service directories are compiled by local councils and they consist mainly of the services they provide. They usually do not take account of services available from other providers, or the needs of children, young people, parents or carers.The Centre Social and Business Informatics at Newcastle University have completed a project to identify new possibilities for compiling Children’s Service directories to improve partnership working and increase efficiency. They have developed a framework for developing regional and sub regional directories to give a big picture of what is available from the statutory, voluntary and commercial sectors, to best meet the needs of the different audiences for the directories.
