The Office of the Third Sector, Cabinet Office, has invited Regional Development Agencies to submit proposals for using additional funding to boost Business Link capacity to broker support for social enterprises. The aim is to help social enterprises to maximise their performance and impact. Evidence shows that businesses that use business support and advice improve their performance and so social enterprises are being encouraged to use the support that is available. There is a focus on Business Link because it provides a gateway to organisations that can support social enterprises. The RDAs will work with stakeholders, including specialist support agencies, to use the money to meet the support needs of social enterprises in their region. The Office of the Third Sector will work with RDAs to develop baseline measures and evaluate impact over the lifetime of this intervention.
