CALL FOR BUILDING REGULATIONS REVIEW AFTER FATAL FIRE

Headlines, PublicNet: 6 November, 2007

The LGA will meet Government ministers this week to discuss this.
They will call for an overhaul of the existing regulations that do not currently compel the owners of new buildings to assess whether fire suppression systems - such as sprinklers - are needed.

LOCAL HOUSING COMPANY GUIDANCE UNVEILED

Headlines, PublicNet: 6 November, 2007

The Housing Minister, Yvette Cooper, said the Housing Companies would mark the return of local authorities to centre stage in providing new homes for their communities, although in a new way.
