AUTHORITIES URGED TO STUDY CHILDREN’S VIEWS AFTER OFSTED SURVEY
A major survey today reveals that the overwhelming majority of young people are healthy, sporting, community-minded and conscientious about school. The study from the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills – Ofsted – also found concerns about bullying and a desire for better advice on careers, sex and relationships.
COUNCILS GET HELP WITH NEW CRIME FIGHTING REGULATIONS
A new online tool has been launched to help local authorities and their partners comply with tough new crime and disorder regulations which will come into effect from April next year. It has been launched by the Audit Commission to assist all those involved in fighting crime and disorder to deliver value for money.

The authors explore the most important factors that explain educational results including the propensity for disadvantaged students to attend the worse-performing schools. They set out an agenda for reducing low achievement embracing pre-school, primary schools and secondary schools.
