SUMMIT TO LOOK AT COUNCILS’ ROLE IN CUTTING CARBON EMISSIONS

Local authority leaders will this week unveil plans to make communities more sustainable and to give councils a stronger role in Britain reaching its Carbon Emissions Reduction Target. The Local Government Association will reveal its proposals at its Sustainable Communities Summit,which begins in Liverpool tomorrow.

PILOTS TEST WAYS TO LINK SOCIAL SERVICES AND HEALTH CARE INFORMATION

Four areas of England are to pilot ways to link social care systems and NHS health care records. They will test how social care records can be tied into the Health Service’s Personal Demographics Service, to ensure both services are talking about the same patient.

THE CHANGE UP PUBLIC SERVICE PRIORITY PROGRAMME

Voluntary and community organisations are set to play a major role inthe government’s “Strategy for Protecting the Public and Reducing Reoffending” as the third sector delivery of public services gathers momentum. The Change Up Public Service Priority Programme included five pilot projects commissioned by the National Offender Management Service to test out approaches to building the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to allow fuller participation in delivering offender services.
