INSPECTORS WANT SCHOOLS TO TEACH PERSONAL FINANCE SKILLS

Schools and colleges are being urged today to give greater priority to teaching young people about managing their personal finances. A report from
Ofsted,- the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, also calls on the Government to give clear guidance to schools on how time can be found to include the subject at Key Stages 3 and 4.

STUDY SAYS COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS FAIL TO INFLUENCE SERVICE PROVIDERS

New research says a scheme designed to improve the lives of people in disadvantaged communities has succeeded in getting them involved in the planning and delivery of solutions to local problems, but it has not led to the communities influencing service providers.
The study by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation looked at the Communities First programme in Wales.
