STUDY POINTS TO AGEISM IN NHS TREATMENT OF STROKE PATIENTS

Concern is being raised today that some older people who suffer strokes are missing out on treatment because of ageism in the National Health Service. Research published in Postgraduate Medical Journal says older stroke victims are not getting the same level of care as younger patients.

CONSULTATION OPENS ON POTENTIAL NUCLEAR POWER SITES

Local people have been given a month to put forward their views on a list of potential sites for new nuclear power stations. The locations have been named by the Department of Energy and Climate Change after vetting a series of applications to ensure they were credible and that the sites could be operational by 2025.
