SCHOOLS GET DETAILS OF NEW INSPECTION FRAMEWORK

A new system of inspection for schools is being launched today. Ofsted is making changes to the focus of its inspections in an effort to ensure they have the greatest impact possible on school improvement. The new process will also give more significance to the views of pupils and parents.

POLICE FORCES TOLD TO WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE VALUE FOR TAXPAYERS

People in England and Wales are not getting good value for money from their local police forces according to a report which calls on forces to rethink radically the way they operate. Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Denis O’Connor, said members of the public were not getting a good deal in terms of crime fighting and financial efficiency.

CHEMOTHERAPY CANCER TREATMENT SPEEDED UP

Chemotherapy cancer treatment is a complicated business and introducing new drugs can take months. In a move to tackle this problem the NHS, the drug industry and the IT sector collaborated to develop software, now available on the Internet, that has reduced development time for new drugs from three months to a few hours.
