LOCAL GOVERNMENT SETS OUT MANIFESTO ‘TO REBALANCE DEMOCRACY’

Council leaders have published their own plans for a rebalancing of democracy in favour of voters. The Local Government Association published its manifesto for a new politics as hundreds of councillors met for their annual conference and as the Prime Minister set out his vision for what he called a ‘fairer, stronger and more prosperous society’.

COUNCILS JOIN RURAL ECONOMIES ‘SUMMIT’

The report sets out findings from research which focused on schools that were identified to have significantly raised pupil attainment levels over a three year period. Many of the schools continued to maintain or further improve their results in subsequent years. This indicates that improvement has become embedded in the school’s work and culture.
