STUDY FINDS NO CLEAR EVIDENCE OLYMPICS WILL BENEFIT LOCAL PEOPLE

A new study has found there is insufficient evidence that major multi-sport events benefit the health and economy of people in the host country. A report published on bmj.com today calls on those responsible for the London Olympics to measure whether benefits are justified by costs.

REPORT HIGHLIGHTS CONCERNS OVER THIRD SECTOR WORK IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE

The work of voluntary organisations in criminal justice may be hampered by resentment from the statutory sector, according to a new study. It highlights the benefits third sector providers can bring but also points to concerns from statutory agencies, which saw such groups as competitors.
