MIND THE PUBLIC SERVICE DATA GAP

Public services should adopt the Tesco Clubcard approach and give iPads’ to all frontline staff to close the data gap which causes costly mistakes.

A report on the Government’s use of data published by the think tank Demos recommends that all frontline public sector staff, such as social workers, police and health visitors should have ‘smart phone or iPad-style’ data stores that can keep track of service users and their specific needs.

MANAGERS FAILING TO RESPOND TO HIGH STRESS LEVELS

Public sector staff are experiencing high level of stress, but many managers are failing to address the issue.

A survey by the British Heart Foundation revealed that 52 per cent of government workers rated their daily stress levels as five out of ten or above. Respondents reported that stress from work spilled over into their home life and free time. More than a third claimed stress from work made them feel more tired than usual, and over a quarter said they find it difficult to sleep.

TAX RELIEF FOR BRAND PROMOTERS

Staff who spend their working days wearing a full uniform or even a branded polo shirt for which they are responsible for keeping clean and looking presentable can now benefit for tax relief of £60 per annum.

16 YEAR OLDS GET CALL FOR NATIONAL SERVICE

The strategy focuses on the people and families and then works back to ways in which they can be given a second chance. The solutions envisaged disregard existing organisational silos.

FACEWATCH GOES NATIONWIDE
