This report sets out the findings from the two-year research and development programme undertaken by the Strategic Partnering Taskforce in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. The report provides evidence of good practice where innovative partnerships are helping to bring tangible benefits to local communities. Examples of successful strategic partnering include seven new service centres in Worcestershire, joining up county, district, police and health authorities; a strategic partnership in Durham to deliver building and civil engineering services and a strategic partnership in Barnsley that seeks to provide integrated health and social services.A new Procurement and Partnerships Team is taking forward further work promoting and supporting partnership working both with local authorities and across Whitehall.
