It reviews the innovative interactive web site Redbridge i which is designed to allow the London Borough of Redbridge Council to engage more fully with its local citizens to enhance services and to increase democratic participation.

“Redbridgei” utilises a host of features used by leading online companies like Amazon, eBay and MySpace to provide personalisation, collaboration, and interactive communications to increase the dialogue that Redbridge can have with the community. The site allows the public to talk directly to the Council and so gives residents a voice. This has had the effect of changing the balance of power between residents and the Council.

GovTV is a dedicated web-cast television channel for governors of public bodies, council members and senior executives across all public sector organisations and is available free to an unlimited audience at anytime, at any location via the internet.
