This programme is now available to view on egovtv.tv, the online television channel for public service modernisation. It describes the long-term Business Transformation programme adopted by Birmingham City Council. The programme is expected to deliver over £1.6 billion in cashable savings over 10 years through more efficient ways of working. The Council adopted a joint venture approach with Capita, to form Service Birmingham.

Helen O’Dea, Chief Executive of Service Birmingham, discusses the benefits of a Public-Private partnership approach to delivering transformed services and how council staff can benefit from talent management schemes. She also advises how the Public-Private partnership working can be adapted to other councils.
