Baroness Jay, Minister for Women, has welcomed a new package of measures to tackle domestic violence as part of a Government drive to crackdown on crime and its causes.The Crime Reduction Programme, “Reducing Crime and Tackling its Causes”, has been published by the Home Office after working closely with the Women’s Unit in the Cabinet Office.

Over the coming year the Home Office will be looking at 10-15 projects across the country and investigating a number of techniques for tackling domestic violence, as part of their Crime Reduction Programme.

The Women’s Unit intends to follow this up by publication in Spring of a document containing practical ways to tackle violence against women.
