A one-stop-shop for parents in Sheffield has been praised by Education
Secretary David Blunkett, as an ‘exemplary’ example of delivering the
National Childcare Strategy.

The Strategy promised good quality, affordable and accessible childcare.
Sheffield’s Children’s Information Service (CIS) aims to give families and
lone partents information that will give them better access to the labour

There is information about Government help with childcare costs, plus local
authority and education service information about what childcare provision
is available locally.

There’s also information on the New Deal for Lone Parents, and the Sure
Start programme which helps the development of children.
