Millions of disabled people should see a real difference to their lives if new proposals in a new report become law, says the TUC.Welcoming the report from the Government’s Disability Rights Task Force, the trades union organisation has urged ministers to turn the recommendations into law as quickly as possible. If room cannot be found in this Parliament for all of the report’s recommendations to become law, then it has urged that many of its proposals should be added to bills already in the legislative programme

The Disability Rights Task Force report ‘From Exclusion to Inclusion’ sets out recommendations across education, work, travel, housing and the environment, local government, health and social services.

The Government has already said it will now bring forward legislation giving students equal access to schools and colleges.
