The Civil Service has continued to employ more women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds in senior posts, more part-timers, and more and more staff are based outside London. That is according to the Civil Service Statistics 1999. The publication highlights key trends in civil service staffing for the period up to 1 April 1999.
The document also plots the number of permanent and casual staff in each department and agency and age levels.
More detailed information on civil service staffing by gender, ethnic origin, disability and age will be included in the Equal Opportunities Data Summary 1999 to be published in April.
