Initiatives which demonstrate the results of the Better Government for Older People programme are on show in Bath today (Friday). The event is organised by the programme’s Network, which aims to share ideas and good practice across the UK. Projects featured include many aimed at helping older people access the money they need to fund a satisfying retirement.

But the benefits of exercise for all ages is also demonstrated by a Hammersmith and Fulham project on active ageing, which includes abseiling, line-dancing and badminton.

Another innovative project is that organised by Watford Borough Council – Time Swap is a local exchange scheme encouraging older people to help each other.
