The Cabinet Office has published two new volumes designed to give civil servants up to date guidance on current reforms, current management thinking and ethics. The Directory of Civil Service Guidance replaces two previous handbooks – Guidance on Guidance and the Heads of Department Personal Handbook.

The Directory of Civil Service Guidance covers the central management and propriety issues for civil servants, but it does not cover those specialised fields – such as personnel, resource and financial management – where other established networks set out to provide up-to-the-minute information.

It can be found on the Cabinet Office website at www.cabinet-office.gov.uk/guidance
