The Office of the e-Envoy has announced the launch of ‘LEARN’ – the Levering External Advice and Relations Network. The network aims to bring together leading international knowledge management practitioners to provide external advice and comment on the developing UK policy framework for knowledge management.
Work on this will be based around key areas of activity such as knowledge capture, transfer, retention and management. It will also work on how to use knowledge gained to help communities and businesses make the most of it.
The new group of experts will operate as a sounding board rather than having power. The development of the policy itself will be done by staff seconded from across Government departments, and the work co-ordinated by a team from the Office of the e-Envoy.
Members of LEARN include academics and business representatives specialising in knowledge management.
