The public sector is getting into the principles of ’emotional intelligence’ in order to bring about radical transformation. The Centre for Management and Policy Studies (CMPS), set up as part of the modernising government agenda, is offering a new intensive course in the topic on various dates throughout 2002.
Recent research suggests that workplace ‘stars’ are rich in emotional intelligence – the ability to understand both themselves, and to empathise and get along with others. Participants will be invited to use the course principles to consider how to bring about change across the civil service.
Course Director Roy Howells is one of only a few people in Europe accredited to use some of the principles being taught. The courses will be run at Sunningdale Park, Berkshire.
