It is a planned change effort. An OD program involves a systematic diagnosis of the organisation, the development of a strategic plan for improvement, and the mobilization of resources to carry out the effort. An organisation-development effort is related to a total organisation change such as a change in the culture or the reward systems or the total managerial strategy.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE SERVICES ‘NEED STABLE FUNDING’

 

Voluntary and community groups are urging local authorities not to cut funding for services that enable vulnerable people to remain in their own homes. The National Association for Voluntary and Community Action also wants councils to work with the Department for Communities and Local Government to arrive at a more stable long-term funding arrangement for Supporting People services.

COUNCILS FACE CALL FOR ‘CLUTTER AUDITS’ ON COUNTRY ROADS

 

Local authorities will today face a call to carry out “clutter audits” after a claim that rural areas are ruined by intrusive traffic calming and confusing signs that may also be putting motorists’ lives at risk. The call comes from the motoring organisation, the RAC, which is joining the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England to protest against the cluttering of the countryside.
